Today, it blends its original character with fresh renovations and thoughtful updates - creating a classic Mangawhai bach experience that feels nostalgic, warm and wonderfully simple.

Step inside and you’ll find a space that’s calm, comfortable and easy. Two bedrooms with flexible bedding (super-king or twin singles), a newly renovated bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen make everyday living relaxed and uncomplicated.
The heart of this classic Mangawhai bach is the large sun-soaked deck - perfect for BBQ dinners, morning coffees, reading in the afternoon sun or long evenings together. There’s also a private garden ideal for families, friends and anyone wanting that simple Kiwi bach magic.

Creating this space has been a personal project for Glenn and Kylie. After years of spending time in Mangawhai - from relaxed estuary walks to days at the surf beach - they wanted to create a bach that reflects the kind of holidays they grew up with: simple, relaxed and full of connection.
With over 45 years of combined experience in hospitality and tourism, they know exactly what makes a stay feel effortless. Every detail in the bach has been chosen with comfort in mind: a warm welcome, thoughtful touches, and a space that’s easy to settle into from the moment you arrive.
They’ve opened their bach so others can enjoy the same slow mornings, shared meals and meaningful moments they love about Mangawhai - whether that’s exploring the estuary, heading out for a surf, or unwinding back at the deck.
